    Overview:

    This 2-day, in-person VALOR training provides sworn officers at all levels with the essentials to survive and thrive in their careers by stressing the importance of being physically and mentally prepared, maintaining situational awareness, combating complacency, and remaining vigilant.

     

    Hear from law enforcement experts on:

    • Causes of officer assaults, injuries, and deaths
    • Safety and preparedness mindset
    • Physical health
    • Officer-citizen encounters
    • Mitigating stress
    • Weapon concealment
    • Intentional wellness mindset
    • Surviving an assault
    • Casualty care and rescue tactics
    • Personal protective factors
    • Deaths not associated with assaults
    • Vehicle safety
    • An officer survivor story

     

    Additional topics covered throughout the course include professionalism, leadership, and critical decision-making.

     

    Training will be held January 22 and January 23, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., CT, with a 1-hour break for lunch (on your own).

     

    Certificate of completion for 16 hours available

     

    This continuing education activity is approved by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) and deemed valid for the purpose of In-Service training credits with all participating states within the United States.

No. This training is funded by BJA and is free to any sworn law enforcement officer. However, travel, lodging, and per diem costs are the responsibility of the attendee or the attendee’s agency.
Yes. Depending on the location of the training and the state’s law enforcement training authority, state law enforcement credit may be available.
This training is strictly classroom-based. Appropriate dress is business casual or uniform, if required by your agency.
While this training is primarily for state, local, and tribal officers, federal law enforcement officers may be admitted on a space-available basis.
