The VALOR Officer Safety and Wellness Program helps law enforcement officers remain physically and mentally prepared for duty, in order to return home safely after every shift. We understand the unique challenges and inherent dangers faced by law enforcement officers. We are committed to providing the necessary tools to prepare and protect our nation’s protectors.
Everything we develop uses the latest research, tactics, and response methods to address today’s greatest challenges facing law enforcement. All resources and training curricula are vetted, created in collaboration with law enforcement subject experts, and approved by the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance.
We provide critical, no-cost on-site training, eLearning, and technical assistance. Our classroom training is presented in an inspirational, storytelling format that uses engaging adult-learning principles. We supplement our training with focused materials including posters, research articles, videos, online training, bulletins, and podcasts. All materials are designed with the goal of changing officers’ behaviors to increase their safety and wellness.
We serve all active sworn law enforcement officers throughout the United States. Our comprehensive approach is designed to create an organizational culture of officer safety and wellness. The program materials address a variety of audiences, including line-level officers, mid-level leadership, and executive leadership.
Our on-site training is conducted throughout the United States in strategically selected cities to maximize the number of law enforcement officers that we can reach. In addition to our on-site training, we strive to reach as many law enforcement agencies as possible across the nation through this website, which provides officers with access to the VALOR Clearinghouse, the VALOR Officer Safety App, the Officers’ Corner (law enforcement-only portion of the website), and our social media pages.
The VALOR Program, in conjunction with these providers, comprises the VALOR Initiative.
Through a multifaceted approach that includes delivering no-cost training (professional education), conducting research, developing and providing resources, and establishing partnerships that benefit law enforcement officers, the Preventing Violence Against Law Enforcement and Ensuring Officer Resilience and Survivability (VALOR) Initiative is an effort to improve the immediate and long-term safety, wellness, and resilience of law enforcement officers.

In addition to our VALOR Initiative partners, we are proud to work in conjunction with several other organizations that endeavor to create a culture of safety and wellness for officers and the community.
